What Criteria is Used to Select Courses for SI?


The following criteria are used to determine the priority in which courses receive SI support through the Wingspan: Center for Learning and Writing Support. Courses must meet at least Criterion 1 to be considered:

  1. Courses with high rates of D, F, or withdrawal grades (“DFW rates”) based on data collected from the University of Kansas Visual Analytics platform.
  2. Courses with moderate to large enrollment (typically 100+ students).
  3. Gateway courses (prerequisites for future coursework) that are critical to degree progression.
